11:00 am: Railway station Dresden Neustadt - Eagerly I'm waiting at the platform and look at my watch
11:09 am: donaghy81 must come with that train
We actually just knew each other from the vin-board.
Once I've seen a picture of her. So I was very excited…
Surprisingly you develop a feeling for the right person in those situations
and when the train came in I saw her from a long way off.
Well, I thought after the incident at the central station she sure would wait
close to the door to avoid missing to get off.
11:12 am: 2 friendly young men are waiting at the parking lot to take us to Berlin.
On the road we had enough time to get to know each other and
in my opinion I couldn't have picked out a better companion -
or did she pick me out?
01:00 pm: Berlin / Teltow - to the minute
We lost our ability to make decisions that day - what was the
reason?
Five meters to the next bus station and 100 to the next streetcar stop.
So we walked the 100 meters. Arriving at the streetcar stop we finally decided
to go by bus.
I do not mention the criticizing statements about "friendliness"
of some inhabitants in means of public transport because they are a minority.
01:48 pm: Bus trip to Hallesches Ufer
We wanted to meet mwgrey at Hallesches Ufer to get to the Meininger
Youth Hostel.
On the phone she told me she already checked in. And she was willing to wait
there for us.
With lollipops in our mouths we went to the hostel.
02:00 pm: at the reception
After I have paid for my bed, we went upstairs to get to our
room.
Mwgrey was waiting at the door and totally out of her mind with joy. Mwgrey
occupied the single bed
and so I laid myself on the one half of the double-bed to think about the happenings
so far.
I should mention that we still had no tickets for the premiere so far. We decided
we should try to get those in the early afternoon.
Straight forward to the Marlene-Dietrich-Platz!
Or more exactly to the Arcades, heading over to the ticket agency inside the
Berlin-Palace.
Two counters. At one of it a young woman bought tickets. At the other one a
young man took a seat and was starring busy at his computer.
I was disappointed, no long lines, no jostling. No good signs.
An Arabic looking man offered a ticket for the Find me Guilty premiere.
Prejudices and the fact it was just one held us back to make the deal - we'd
heard of faked tickets.
The young woman was still at the other counter and so I asked mwgrey to ask
at the one that just opened…
One more time I was unable to do anything. Mwgrey ordered the tickets for the
show at 10:30 pm. It took 5 minutes.
This might have been the longest 5 minutes in my entire life.
Right the moment I was looking to donaghy81, mwgrey turned around and said:
"Got them!"
I believe she had to repeat it about 1 or 2 times till I comprehended the message.
I have dealt with waiting a few hours. To get those tickets I had called people
during the last few days I hadn't seen for months…
03:15 pm: Now I'm here holding my Find me Guilty Premiere ticket.
I wish to thank lorelai, who tried to buy tickets on ebay
for about 2 days.
And also muckelchen who was willing to answer all my messages and finally offered
to buy the tickets.
To make sure not loosing the ticket I changed the storage place for about three
times just to put it back where it was first.
Now we just had to wait.
After we had lunch, we had the chance to see Berlin on a very own point of view,
we went back to the hostel
07:15 pm: donaghy81 is getting nervous and wants to get back to the Marlene-Dietrich-Platz
Already on the trip to Berlin she went into raptures for Sigourney
Weaver.
She really must have been disappointed that moment she had to face that she
was not going to appear this evening. But you can't get a sunshine down...
Now it was the right time to mark out our district. Okay, so
far it was marked out with all the TV stations and reporters.
And one more time I dealt with the idea to become a professional photographer
just to be able to talk to Vin for about 5 minutes.
Okay, make it ten… After an intensive calculation where we should wait we figured
out, that the place between McDonalds
and the red carpet would be perfect. Also we couldn't allow that donaghy81 would
miss the premiere because of a withdrawal of milkshakes.
08:00 pm: other visitors joined us and so we had to occupy or position.
It might be interesting to study the variety of fans. And being thankful, having skipped that phase.
09:00 pm No one could make us leave our position even if our fingers were slowly getting numb with cold.
09:10 pm: Nata, MinaP and maus must arrive by now.
I don't like leaving things to chance during those times and
so I decided to look for them.
Somehow I felt it was quite the right moment. Said and done, so I left mwgrey
and donaghy81.
A minute later with a grin I plant myself before Nata and I was thankful that
I didn't have to introduce myself again.
MinaP and maus also said hi. Finally we were complete.
We had a great time together and after Nata lent me her gloves I was totally
fine.
So it was no problem for me to pass one of the gloves to donaghy81. We talked
about this and that and most of the time about THAT
09:45 pm: approximately
So far we had a great view over the area. But then a caravan of T4 appeared and obstructed our view. Brilliant! I thought that they better leave quickly and some minutes later they really did
10:00 pm: Where is Vin?
10:15 pm: The girls get nervous
What should we do? We thought we would meet him live before
the show. Now we were running out of time.
It is interesting how people manage those situations. The cause for the following
panic was the clause on the tickets: those who are late won't get in.
MinaP almost in the Palace, Nata not yet moving and the others somewhere in
between.
10:20 pm: MinaP's release! We decide to get in the Palace.
Right the moment we started I recognized the security's words:
"I'll open now".
I was wide-awake and turned around to the direction the limousines had to come
from.
So we all turned around awaiting the arrival of the cars just to figure out
that there was no Vin either.
No chance, we needed to hurry to get into the Palace. The reporters were waiting
at the end of the red carpet
and so we stood next to them. Fabulous! We couldn't miss him. Fortunately I
didn't know that Vin signed autographs right at the place we left a few moments
ago.
So it wasn't that disappointing that he was "pushed" forward when he passed
us by.
Remembering the premiere in Munich I didn't expected to see him again later.
Now an employee of the Palace told us that we had to leave our cameras at the
cloakroom. The clause on the ticket in mind I asked him if we would make it.
He just said: "You better hurry." Now I felt panic. Donaghy81 joined me to the
cloakroom.
I told the ladies it was an emergency.
10:45 pm: Me and mwgrey finally arrived at our seats.
Donaghy81, Nata, MinaP and maus sit 2 rows in front of us. I
realized that I still had a pen and a picture in my hands.
I forgot to put them back in the camera bag. No idea what time it was.
Bettina Zimmermann made a speech and then the producers appeared on stage. This
brought me back to reality… might Vin come too?
And making a short speech, he finally did. He hugged all the producers and with
an "UNGLAUBLIDSCH" (unbelievable) he left the stage.
Right here I should briefly mention that he really looked cute in his a-bit-to-big
trousers.
Vin has a tendency to a bandy-legged gait, caused by his shapely legs. *g*
The way he left the stage I thought he would leave the hall
right the same way he came in but the following moments
were of that kind you want to rewind again and again. My senses where wide-awake
before I could realize what was going on.
I lent over my pen and my picture to mwgrey. The rest is history. Mwgrey, Thank
you!
You better not trust me in those moments. He was never that CLOSE and I was
barely able to say "please".
I just recognized that he gave a little piece of paper to his bodyguard. Was
it his speech or even a phone number? I don't know.
We'll never find out. I couldn't believe he had his seat so close to mine and
I said to mwgrey that I had to watch the movie again later. He said something
and held something in his hands
but that time it was out of my perceptions. I was just grinning.
Happy, holding my very own autograph and a thumb up of MinaP I sank into my seat and the movie started.
I won't mention anything about the movie. But if it's coming to the cinemas you better take the chance to watch it.
After the movie was over we had a little "date" with his large
portrait, which he had signed already.
Donaghy81 was away to get the cameras and so I started looking for her.
Half way downstairs I saw her talking to a friendly young man. I figured out
that the cameras where the reason.
But man didn't have a chance against two women. Unimpressed by the sullen faces
of the staff
we took some pictures in memory of this great event.
And while I tried to convince the excited ladies to take a group picture the
lights went out.
THE END
